BPS 2016: Verification on Common Land

BPS 2016: Verification on Common Land

The RPA has recently started requesting further information from some Commons claimants.  This is required in instances where a discrepancy has been identified by the RPA between the rights declared on claimants’ BP5 2016 application form and the date which the RPA hold.  The RPA has found significantly less than last year, however around 500-600 Commons claimants will be receiving a letter asking for this further information.  Members must act quickly on these letters.  Those who have already received a letter have until 24 October to reply, and those who receive a letter after today have until the 28 October.  If a claimant fails to respond, the RPA can only pay on the data which it holds.  This could mean that a claimant is paid less than they declared.  Should this happen, the RPA is unable to increase this.
